In the 2010 season the game is called BREAKAWAY. The field is split into 3 sections by 2 bumps that extend across the field. A tower extends upwards from the center of each bump. Under each tower there is a passage that connects the zones. In this game robots are designed to play a soccer-like game. Robots can either earn 1 point by hitting a ball into opposing goals located opposite of where their drivers station is. Other points may be earned by hanging onto your tower(2 points) or hanging onto one of your teams robot(3 points).
Our robot this year is designed to control and kick balls. The robot design is small enough to be able to fit under the passage and is very fast and agile. The strategy we decided on is to be able to kick the balls over the bump into other zones and have the ability to score.
